House Hunting

We've been shopping on-line since August and our parameters have changed significantly since then. We are so thankful we didn't fly here in October and just buy something out of desperation. We have had the absolute luxury to be picky and get into something we want 100%. We've narrowed down what exactly we like & want so it's pretty easy to weed out properties that don't fit our criteria.

We've looked at 14 places, did 2nd showing on 2. They are sitting on the back burner right now... We did put in an offer on a place on saturday! It was exciting, but not a sure thing. Our final offer was $290 firm, they wanted $305 firm, so we walked away. Realistically, we're looking to spend $250-275, but the stuff we like it $300 - 315... So, we'll see how the market pans out.

So for interest rates are in our favor!

So that offer fell through. Who knows - if they are still on the market in 2 weeks - we'll get Tom to poke them and see if they'll reconsider.

We do have two other places we've seriously been considering, but we're not 100% sure about the area - we're leaning towards a different area. So we'll sit on these ones for now and if they go - they go. If they are still around in a few weeks, maybe we can jump at a low price.

BUT, we're hoping and praying that some new inventory comes into our price range. The place we put a bid on sure raised the bar. I hope we find something similar to fall in love with.


I honestly thought we'd find a place by now, but I guess the right one hasn't come across our path.

I really miss our 'stuff'. It will be like Christmas when we unpack!


So here's hoping that 'the one' will pop up this week! Would be nice to be moved in in March. Funny, I took possession of my first condo in March, and we took possession of the big house in March too, so maybe March will be our lucky month again.
